Project SEARCH

Building Skills. Finding the Right Fit. Succeeding at Work.

Project SEARCH is a high-impact employment training program that provides young adults with diverseABILITIES the opportunity to gain real-world job experience in fully integrated workplace settings. Through our partnership with host businesses and organizations, participants build critical skills and confidence that prepare them for competitive employment after graduation.

At LSG, Project SEARCH is part of our broader mission to support inclusive, person-centered career pathways—and we’re proud to help bridge the gap between education and employment.

How It Works

Project SEARCH is a 9–12 month internship program for individuals aged 18–22 who are in their final year of high school eligibility or recently graduated.

Participants:

  • Spend each day in a workplace setting
  • Rotate through 3 hands-on internships across various departments
  • Receive daily classroom instruction in employability and life skills
  • Get one-on-one support from LSG job coaches, skills trainers, and instructors
  • Exit the program with real work experience, a resume, and job readiness

Program Goals

  • Increase independence, confidence, and self-advocacy
  • Prepare participants for competitive, integrated employment
  • Teach transferable skills that apply to a wide range of job types
  • Build strong partnerships between schools, families, businesses, and service providers

Who Is Eligible?

  • Young adults (18–22) with a documented disability
Must be eligible for Developmental Disabilities Waiver (DDW), DVR, or school-based transition services
  • Must be motivated to work and learn in a professional setting
  • Must have reliable transportation to the internship site

Why It Matters
